busy summer

boy it's been busy
more than I can say
and I am sure thinking
summer will stay this way

not that I'm complaining
I hate the kids to be bored
but it just seems at times
that it is more than I can afford

in energy, emotion and dollars
to do each and every single thing
that the kids have planned and want
to do, it seems every day will bring

a new idea, a new thought, a new plan
and I get swept up in the notion
that they need to take up every
opportunity their minds put in motion

wanting to see

recognizing the way
some are signed
