spring

spring seems to have sprung
but it can't make up it's mind
one day it's cool, the very next
the temperature's climbed

it should come in like a lion
and like a lamb should go out
but it seems the wind is still
blustering and blowing all about

I'm ready for the warmth
and the steady temps too
though it won't be long now
and the humidity will make us stew!

weather
was fairer
and actually rather tame

walkin'
and talkin'
about history I love

seein'
and bein'
in the Garden up above

shoppin'
and hoppin'
to see all there's to see

ridin'
and abidin'
the time on the T

eatin'
and repeatin'
as much as we could

enjoyin'
and spoilin'
you knew that we would

almost time to go

time to go
is nearly here
won't come soon
enough I fear

the kids are happy
and ready to leave
I am too, looking
forward to reprieve

the only thing
that's got me
worried is just
how cold/snowy/icy

it is likely to be
hope we won't feel
too miserable, but
it should be fun still

old friends

hearing from old friends
is always fun to do

just this week,
I've heard from two

getting a quick email
and sending one back

makes it just a bit easier
to help and keep track

it doesn't take long
as I'm sure you can imagine

so take a quick moment and
an old friendship restrengthen

planning a trip

planning a trip
is harder than I thought

particularly with the
amount of money that we've got

trying to see just
what to see and do

and make sure that
everyone stays happy too

putting it all together
and sorting out the days

can bring about confusion
and become a weary maze

but knowing that
once it's planned

we will all have fun
and the memories grand
