memories of Ironman

one year ago
we traveled a ways
just hear the man
with something to say

you waited so long
and worked so hard
to cross that line and
hear those magic words

and now your friends
are going to the same race
you are chomping at the bit
to get back to your pace

but as you know
you are and ever will be
an IRONMAN-and one day
that might just be me!

weekend job

although I am tired
it's been fun
I'm learning new stuff
while on the run

 it's hard to juggle it all
but I've got help and I know
that it's going to be worth it
and the good will show

 so even though it can be tough
 I'll just tough it out
and learn how to handle it all
and see just what I'm about

time flies
faster now
than ever

it seems
each day
a new endeavor

to keep
all things
in perspective

it all causes
me to be reflective

of where we've
been, of where
it's gone

I only
wish I learned
to hone

better skills,
more teaching
more learned

then perhaps
things would
be less yearned

dealt with the
syndrome now

of one male
one upping the
other somehow

when done in fun
it's a joy
to see

when done in anger
it brings only
sadness to me

tri-ing

stroke after stroke kick by kick through the water staying stoked then it's off for a quick change or two out on the bike joining the fray another quick stop to transition yet again strap on your shoes hit the pavement nonstop all this back to back to back is what it means to tri tons of fun and challenge then home to hit the sack

You can find comfy sheepskin
to make the most of what you live in

There are rugs to warm your floors
and change mats for changing baby's drawers

There are shoes, slippers and moccasins too
to keep your feet warm the whole day through

I found home decor; things for office as well
items to keep you comfy and feeling swell

There are exercise accessories and piles
for pets to sleep and travel in comfort and style

Some of my favorites would be the auto accessories-
steering wheel, sheepskin seat covers and the seat belt cover, please

I had not realized there were so many sheepskin products
some quite affordable, others a few more bucks

But I can tell that these items would make life comfy and grand
I just may add a few to a gift list that I had planned!

loss of a young life
it's just so sad
to think of the
grieving mother and dad

I don't understand how
you were here one moment
and gone in the next-
how is that minute spent?

this morning there was a son
and this evening he's gone
to live elsewhere
before our time here is done

worry

worry never really stops
no matter what we try to do
it seems my mind just pops
to any worry out of the blue

can't think or sleep
without the curse
wish the worry would not peep
it's head in every verse

it's here to stay so I've learned
my grandpa even told me so
you never not worry for the kids you've earned
and it sure is hard to go with the flow

endless cycle

when will this cycle end?
it seems to go round
and round again

though they do seem short lived
and maybe fewer between
I'm still grieved

when they flare like they do
I don't know to blame
me or you

but I suspect it takes two
both have some part
inside I'm still blue

and wonder will it end
will we stay this way
or become more a friend?
