what will it bring
for us, what does it
hold, what will it be?

can we ever achieve
what we really want
to attain

we seem to say it
over and over
and over again

if it's time to renew
let's do it together
and see where it takes us

will it be what we want?
will we reach the goal?
or will the new year claim us?

This time of year
brings lots of cheer
all around you hear
words held dear
to all far and near

Folks in high gear,
little ones peer
and have no fear
St Nick will appear

It may seem queer
and some will sneer
at this year's rear
and shed no tear

As the new year
rolls into gear
we hope to adhere
to promises clear

At the year's premiere
let's not jeer
though I'm no Shakespeare
