getting over injury

getting hurt
is never fun

and it's been
keeping from my run

can't jog out
in the sun

and pounding weight
is like a ton

but before I
think that I'm done

I've heard news
that I'll not shun

my healing process
has only begun

and hopefully soon
I'll be back on the re-run!

This time of year
brings lots of cheer
all around you hear
words held dear
to all far and near

Folks in high gear,
little ones peer
and have no fear
St Nick will appear

It may seem queer
and some will sneer
at this year's rear
and shed no tear

As the new year
rolls into gear
we hope to adhere
to promises clear

At the year's premiere
let's not jeer
though I'm no Shakespeare
here's to a happy new year!

Year End Reprise

The last month of the year
is already here

where did it all go
I'd like to know

how it all went so fast
another year almost past

time is flying in a flash
like a hundred yard dash

I just turned around for a second I thought
and now here I am caught

in another time warp blurring before my eyes
and time for another year's reprise
