it's almost time
it's almost here
everywhere you look
you know it's near

the sounds
the sights
the parties
the blinking lights

all come together
in a joyous climax
to celebrate and
enjoy, if we
could only relax

it should be a time
for family, friends,
and fun, a time
for faith and love
and all the season sends

take a moment to stop
and look; think back
to when you were young
and longed to see in Santa's sack

then remember what it should be,
and what you can make it into
now for those who are in your life
