my son just left
for fish camp
he will spend the day
learning to be a champ
when it comes to
learning the ropes of school
and just what to do
each day and every rule
the school will provide
lots of new things
for him to experience
and new learning will bring
him some good
opportunities that he may
not have had
and will help him learn his way
so while he's gone
I'll just sit home and pray
that he will flourish
and in my heart he'll stay
even when he's gone
and off doing new things
I'll know that it's what we want
to eventually cut those strings
