Next is Saturn, just a bit
smaller. The distance is amazing
though I do have to say.
Traveling through this universe would be less dazing.

As Uranus and Neptune, still
quite a ways away,
Would allow you to hop over to Pluto-
if you will permit it a planet to stay.

New month has begun
Right before our eyes
One with happiness
Eating, laughter,
Vigor and fun

just the other day
we took time away
from our busy way
and stopped just to play

but it was so much more-
it was walking through a door
back into the times of lore
and learning we could not ignore

we saw the days of knights
who fought with all their might
we beheld the many sights
of the age of darkened light

we met the king, the knight, the jester
and William Shakespeare we couldn't help but pester
our wondering minds could never fester
and those days we hope to sequester

even if just in our dreams

or how the spear and sword gleams
and everything was as it seems

and how I am glad we took the time

A Cruise

we finally decided
we'd take a cruise

and that we would
share that wonderful news

to all who would care
to hear, or my blog peruse

it wasn't really
so hard to choose

the price includes everything
except gambling and booze

which are two things
we abstain from, so nothing to lose

full buffets every day,
lounging by the pool, a late morning snooze

the fun, the relaxation
the beautiful views

seemed to simply add up

Upcoming Anniversary

I am dreaming of traveling near or far
Whether by boat, train, plane or car

It doesn't matter much to me
How we get there, I just want to be

With my husband by my side
As he's been for half my life

picking berries

have you ever picked your own berries
it's almost like being in the wild with magic fairies

it is so peaceful, so serene
and these are the prettiest berries you've ever seen

they are so pretty when fully ripe
that you can't help but want to take a bite

you are giddy from the sweet smell

but that is just what we did receive
this last weekend was frozen rain
causing us to be too shocked to complain

I've never known it to even lurk
in the area of what we know as Spring
all that time has ever thought to bring

it is almost either warm showers or sun
and that is a sign of more to come
over the summer and then some

that I am sure we will talk about for a few

just where did the weird weather come from?

it's again time for camp
I get to help cook
and await the approval stamp

The menu is set
the groceries are bought
The time is approaching
when meals will be sought

by 200 folks ready to chow.

and easy to boot
That is the key to staying so slick

In the kitchen
where all moves so fast
You gotta keep moving
To make each and every last

item on the menu
appear just right
for the campers to be willing
to even take that first bite.
